  1. General presentations

    • 1108227 – Environmental issues, brainstorming session

      Capasent presented the results of the meeting of 24th August to the staff of the Department of Environment and Operations and the Environment and Operations Committee.

      The Environment and Operations Committee thanks the presenter and instructs the Environment and Operations Committee to propose an action plan.

    • 1006286 – Resource policy.

      Discussion on the development of an environmental and resource policy for Hafnarfjörður. Older documents were presented.

      The Environment and Operations Committee instructs the Environment and Operations Department to examine how work on resource strategy has been conducted in other local authorities.

    • 0906132 – Waste collection in Hafnarfjörður

      Ishmael David attended the meeting and presented a report that has been made on the upland.

      The Environment and Operations Committee agrees that a working group will be appointed to review the town's waste collection arrangements. The group will be appointed by Margrét G. Magnúsdóttir, Helga Ingólfsdóttir and Árni S. Jónsson, together with staff from the Environment and Operations Department.

    • 1001168 – Magni ehf, price adjustments

      A submission from the Reykjavik Law Firm, dated 23 August 2011, on behalf of the contractor Magna Ltd, is presented, in which a claim is made for indexation of non-indexed contracts.

      The Environment and Operations Committee instructs the department to continue working on the matter.

    • 1109006 – Uppland, Hafnarfjörður - clean-up

      To be discussed.

      The Environment and Executive Committee thanks you for the presentation and draws attention to a special clean-up initiative in the uplands on World Environment Day, 16th September.

    • 1109051 – Project status of the Department of the Environment and Operations

      Review the department's project status.

    • 1004521 – Public Administration Review 2010, working group

      To be taken up again.

      Representatives of the Independence Party submit a reservation: “The report provides good information but requires further consideration. Cost estimates for the possible changes mentioned in relation to housing matters are not available, either with regard to alterations to premises or a potential transfer of activities concerning direct services to residents. The options presented in the report should be examined more closely, taking into account the changed scope of the areas. Also to assess the impact of the Infrastructure Act and the changes it brings to the operations of the aforementioned areas. It is important to evaluate further options for merger or integration within the public administration and to look to the longer term.“
