Part A of building permits

• 1106173 – Dalshraun 5. building permit

  The residents' association of Dalshrauni 5, on 20 June 2011, applied for permission to reduce the size of the existing window openings on the east and west sides of the building, in accordance with drawings by architect Guðmundur Möller dated 9 March 2011.

  The Planning and Building Officer approves the building plans in accordance with Article 11 of the Building Regulations No. 160/2010. A building permit will be issued once the conditions of paragraphs 1-4 of Article 13 of the Building Regulations have been fulfilled.

• 1106176 – Álfaskeið 16, Amendment

  On 21 June 2011, Gísli Jónsson applies for permission for an internal layout and to alter the entrance, in accordance with drawings by Pálmar Ólason dated 20 June 2011.

  The Planning and Building Officer approves the building plans in accordance with Article 11 of the Building Regulations No. 160/2010. A building permit will be issued once the conditions of paragraphs 1-4 of Article 13 of the Building Regulations have been fulfilled.

• 1106001 – Norðurbraut 1, building permit for extension and refurbishment

  Charlotta Oddsdóttir and Sverrir Aðalsteinn Jónsson apply on 1 June 2011 to add a gable to both sides of the house. They propose to erect an extension on the north-west side in accordance with drawings by Ólafur Flygenring dated 25 May 2011; see the drawings for a more detailed description. New drawings were received on 14 June 2011$line$

  The Planning and Building Officer approves the building plans in accordance with Article 11 of the Building Regulations No. 160/2010. A building permit will be issued once the conditions of paragraphs 1-4 of Article 13 of the Building Regulations have been fulfilled.

• 1105047 – Hraunkambur 9, building permit

  Birgir Gunnarsson and Guðmundur Tómasson apply on 04.05.11 to build a gable on the east side of the house, as well as to construct a lightweight glass and metal frame windbreak at the entrance to the upper floor, in accordance with drawings by Árni Jón Sigfússon, dated. 03.05.11. The drawings were subject to local consultation, and no comments were received.

  The Planning and Building Officer approves the building plans in accordance with Article 11 of the Building Regulations No. 160/2010. A building permit will be issued once the conditions of paragraphs 1-4 of Article 13 of the Building Regulations have been fulfilled.

• 1106182 – Eskivellir 17, Alteration

  The Planning and Building Officer approves the application in accordance with Article 11 of the Buildings Act no. 160/2010.

• 0903068 – Fjarðargata 13-15, sign

  Eldborg Kiwanis Club applied on 06.03.2009 for a renewal for a sign that was approved on 28.04.2004, according to drawings by Sveinbjörn Hinriksson. The application has been re-submitted with a new drawing showing a lower sign than previously. The Planning and Building Committee gave a favourable response to the application on 27.04.10 and requested a more detailed design for the sign. New designs by Sigurþór Aðalsteinsson have been received. Approval from the residents' association is available.

  The Planning and Building Officer approves the application.

Part B: Organisational Matters

• 1009181 – Hlíðarás 16/Furuás 24, boundary of plots and development work.

  The property owners of Hlíðarás 16 submit a complaint, in a letter dated 15 September 2010, regarding significant delays that have occurred in the completion of the site works at Furuás 24. On 27 October 2010, the Planning and Building Officer required the owners of Furuás 24 to complete the finishing works on their plot in accordance with the approved plans within two months.

  The Planning and Building Officer reiterates his request to the owners of Furuás 24 to finalise their plot in accordance with the approved plans. If this is not addressed within two weeks, the Planning and Building Officer will invoke the powers of Section 56 of the Building Regulations Act to impose a daily penalty.

• 1103095 – Fífuvellir 37, building defect

  Hólmfríður Stefánsdóttir, reg. no. 251264-5629, is seeking assistance regarding a building defect at Fífuvellir 37 in Hafnarfjörður. She has repeatedly and unsuccessfully tried to contact the building manager of the house, Bárður Ágúst Gíslason, VAT no: 160560-3639, to carry out the final inspection of the property, which has not yet taken place.

  The Planning and Building Officer imposes a daily fine of kr. 20,000 on the building supervisor, Bárður Ágúst Gíslason, kt. 160560-3639, in accordance with the authority in Article 56 of the Building Regulations Act no. 160/2010. The daily fines will be collected from 15 July if the request is not complied with by that date. Furthermore, the Planning and Building Officer will refer the matter to the Building Authority for a reprimand in accordance with section 57 of the same Act.

• 11032738 – Skútahraun 3-5, containers on the plot

  The letter from Einar Gautur Steingrímsson, solicitor, on behalf of Uppfyllingar ehf., dated 24.03.11, in which a point is raised regarding containers on the plots, is considered. A report from the traffic safety group, dated 17.05.11, is available. A letter has been received from Ingólfur Friðjónsson, solicitor, on behalf of Drómi hf, stating that the containers are not their responsibility.

• 1105489 – Thrastaras 63, Question

  Grímur Agnarsson submits an enquiry on 27.05.11, see attached documents, drawn by Steinunn Jónsdóttir on 19.05.11.

  The Planning and Building Officer approves the application, subject to the comments being addressed. The development requires a building permit.

• 1106192 – Fjóluás 22 - stage of construction and use.

  The house has been advertised for sale with photos showing a finished house, but it is registered as structurally complete at construction stage 4 and assessment stage 4.

  The Planning and Building Officer has scheduled a final inspection for 07.07.11 in accordance with Article 36 of the Building Regulations Act No. 160/2010. The building supervisor is required to take the necessary steps as stipulated by the Act.

• 1105246 – Stekkjarhvammur 74, plot enlargement

  Arnar Þór Þorláksson Baxter, Harpa Þórsdóttir and Ingibjörg Brynjólfsdóttir apply by letter dated 8 June 2011 for an extension of plot no. 74 at Stekkjarhvamm, see attached documents, to include a plot of land they have had in their care.
