• 1008329 – Motion on employment matters, proposal

  A professional opinion is requested from the Culture and Tourism Committee on the proposal from the Hafnarfjörður Employment Initiative Group, as per the minutes of the meeting on 12 January. Hlíf Ingibjörnsdóttir attended the meeting and presented a proposal on tourism.

  The committee thanks the presenter. The cultural and tourism officer is tasked with drafting an opinion and submitting it to the committee members.;

• 1011114 – Hamarskotslækur and Samhugur, a festival day for churches in Advent.

  Steinunn Guðnadóttir attended the meeting, reported on the events and presented a summary.

• 1101286 – Grants for arts and culture 2011.

  A memorandum from the cultural and tourism representative was presented. An announcement and regulations on grants for arts and cultural activities were presented.;

• 10021337 – Tourism in Hafnarfjörður, meetings with businesses

  Discussion about the next meeting.

• 1101271 – Tourism brochure 2011. Hafnarfjörður, the Town in the Lava.

  Work on the brochure has begun. Proposals and/or suggestions are invited.

• 1101272 – Capital Region Tourism Association, Annual General Meeting.

  The Annual General Meeting of the Capital Region Tourism Association will be held at Hotel Hafnarfjörður on 24 February. The agenda will be discussed.

• 1009249 – Cultural Affairs Conference

  A discussion about the planned seminar and its focus.

  The matter discussed.;

• 1101197 – Museum Night 2011.

  As in previous years, Hafnarfjörður is taking part in the Capital Region's Museum Night. Museum Night will be held on 11 February. A programme of museums in Hafnarfjörður has been presented.

  A summary of the Christmas Village and the operating results was presented.

  The committee expresses its satisfaction with the outcome in every respect.;

• 1101291 – Tourism, programme 2011.

  A tourism plan for 2011 was presented. The allocation of funds and the importance of getting the website visithafnarfjordur.is into good shape were discussed.;
