General presentations

• 1209154 – Fenders on the East Bank, Straumsvík

  The harbour master reviewed the requests of cargo ship captains in Straumsvík to renew the defences on the East Bank with so-called sheet piling. A cost estimate for the project was also presented.

  The Harbour Board agrees that the project will be put out to tender in accordance with the applicable rules on tendering.

• 1202073 – Strategic planning of the Culture and Tourism Committee in tourism.

  For consideration: the „Strategy for Tourism in the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður“, which the Cultural and Tourism Committee referred to the Harbour Board for comment by letter dated 4 September 2012, signed by Marín Hrafnsdóttir, Cultural and Tourism Officer.

  The Harbour Board approves the proposed draft as a basis for the Harbour Board's review and instructs the Harbour Master and Sigurbergur Árnason to finalise and submit the final draft of the review for the next Harbour Board meeting.

• Marketing

  Review ideas for marketing the harbour in collaboration with stakeholders in the harbour area.

  The Port Board agrees to proceed with the preparation of a marketing campaign for shipping services in cooperation with companies that provide such services in the Port of Hafnarfjörður. The Port Director will present a plan for the project at the next meeting of the Port Board.

• 1209253 – Complaint about noise from the harbour

  A complaint was submitted by Hranar Hallgrímsson, of 25A Norðurbakki, regarding noise from activities in the harbour area.

  Haraldur Þ. Ólason left the meeting under this item. The Harbour Board agrees to request the assistance of the Environmental Health Surveillance for the Kópavogur and Hafnarfjörður area in investigating these matters.

• 1207102 – Harbour Conference 2012

  Review the agenda and proposed resolutions for the Harbour Conference on 20 and 21 September 2012, held in the Westman Islands.

• Budget, settlement and annual accounts 2013

  The harbour master presented the timetable for the 2013 budget for the City of Hafnarfjörður, its institutions and enterprises.

  The Harbour Board agrees to hold an extraordinary meeting on Thursday 11 October at 8:00 am and to take the harbour's budget for first reading. The harbour's second reading will be on Tuesday 16 October.
