General presentations

• 1207274 – Enquiry regarding the phasing of street construction charges for a stable yard

  To be taken up again.

  The Town Council is negative towards the query as there is no provision for splitting the street construction fee under the current terms. The Town Council also requests that the Planning and Building Committee review the planning and building regulations, along with the fee schedule, for stables plots.

• 1206352 – Housewives' holiday, notice of meeting

  A memorandum from the meeting held on 13 August at the Association of Icelandic Municipalities regarding the Act on housewives' leave was presented.

• 1208246 – Akureyri, 150th anniversary

  A submission from the City of Akureyri, dated 15 August 2012, regarding the 150th anniversary of Akureyri has been presented. The representative of Hafnarfjörður was invited to the celebratory programme on 1 September.

  The mayor will represent the Borough of Hafnarfjörður at the celebrations.

• 1207057 – Financial benchmarks of the Local Government Act

  The Ministry of the Interior's letter of 9 August, responding to a request for an extension to the deadline for the submission of the ten-year plan to the Supervisory Board for Municipal Finances, has been forwarded. An extension has been granted until 15 November.

  The finance manager attended the meeting and presented the matter.

• Regulations on street trading and open-air markets

  Taken up again. Submitted the requested comments.

  The Town Council, with the amendment that the reference to the Environment and Operations Department in Articles 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 is changed to the Planning and Building Department, hereby adopts the regulations on street trading and open-air markets. The regulations, as amended, are referred to the town council for approval.

• 0704184 – Áslandsskóli, housing issues

  An offer for mobile classrooms was presented for information, in accordance with the Municipal Council's resolution of 26 July.

  The councillors of the Independence Party refer to the minutes of the Independence Party representatives in the Environment and Operations Committee on 22 August regarding the matter. The majority councillors also refer to the minutes of the Social Democratic Alliance and the Left-Green Movement on the Environment and Works Committee of 22 August.

• 1202097 – Borrowing powers of the municipal fund 2012

  A loan agreement for the land subdivision was presented. A renewed agreement with Arion Bank for the bank line of credit was presented. The finance director attended the meeting and went over the matters.

  The Town Council refers a loan agreement for land subdivision and a renewed agreement with Arion Bank for a bank line of credit to the Borough Council for approval.

• 1208293 – Accounting and Information Committee, new opinion on the adopted budget supplement.

  Opinion presented.

  The Finance Manager attended the meeting and presented a new opinion from the Accounting and Information Committee on the approval of a budget supplement.$line$$line$Sigríður Björk Jónsdóttir left the meeting at 9:30. Guðrún Ágústa Guðmundsdóttir took her seat at the meeting.

• 1108166 – Equality plan with an action plan

  A request from the Equality Authority, dated 27 July 2012, was presented for the submission of a report on the status and development of equality matters.

  The Town Council refers the matter to the Mayor for further action.
