Part A of building permits

• 1207338 – Herjólfsgata 120848, building no. 05, demolition

  On 31 July 2012, HS Orka applied for a demolition permit for a substation, building 05, although the building has already been removed.

  The Planning and Building Officer approves the application in accordance with Article 11 of the Buildings Act no. 160/2010.

Part B: Organisational Matters

• 1011335 – Tjarnarvellir 11, stage of construction and use

  On 22/12/10, the planning and building officer required the building supervisor to complete the final inspection within 4 weeks. The planning and building officer scheduled a final inspection for 23/06/11, but the building supervisor did not attend. On 18/01/12, the planning and building officer required the building surveyor to request a final inspection within four weeks. If this was not complied with, the planning and building officer would impose daily fines on the building surveyor and the owner in accordance with the authority under the Building Regulations Act no. 160/2010, and would also refer the matter to the Building Inspectorate regarding a reprimand for the building surveyor under the same act. New owners, Miðengi, request an extension on the payment of daily fines while they look into the matter.

  The Planning and Building Officer agrees to grant the requested extension until 1 September.

• 0812107 – 18-20 Vesturgata, works

  Reference is made to previous correspondence regarding the finalisation of the plot boundaries with the plots on Vesturbraut, in accordance with the plot agreement. The instructions of the Planning and Building Officer or the Planning and Building Committee have not been complied with. A daily fine of kr. 50,000 was imposed on the owners, from 01.02.2011.

  The Planning and Building Officer will place the incurred daily penalties in collection if the said work is not commenced within ten days of the date of this meeting and completed within three months. Furthermore, upon completion of collection, the Planning and Building Officer will have the work carried out at the owners' expense in accordance with Section 3 of Article 56 of the Building Act No. 160/2010 and Article 10 of the lease agreement.

• 1206372 – Hamarsbraut 17 car park

  A comment has been received that the site where the car parks are planned is being turfed. Letters have been received from owners dated 20/07/12, arguing for the car park to be located elsewhere than shown on the plan and site map. Letters of the same date have also been received, making comments on the cleaning and finish of the street.

  The Planning and Building Officer directs the owners to submit the building permit plans with the proposals for parking spaces as mentioned in the letter. Letters concerning cleaning and tidying are forwarded to the Department of Environment and Operations.

• 1207325 – Sólvangsvegur 3. Residential care flats for the elderly

  Höfn Retirement Centre, on 31 July 2012, applies for a licence to convert the health centre at Sólvangsvegur 3 into flats, in accordance with drawings by Hilmar Þór Björnsson, registration no. 280845-3109.

  The Planning and Building Officer has deferred the matter as the submitted documents are insufficient. Please see the attached comments.

• 1207275 – Sléttahraun 14, balcony extension

  Helgi G. Kristinsson applies on 26.07.12 to extend the balcony, in accordance with drawings by Emil Þór Guðmundsson dated 20.07.12.

• 1207321 – Óseyrarbraut 6, working drawings, alteration to fire walls

  Gudmundur Á. Tryggvason submits test drawings for a change to the firewalls on 31/07/12. According to drawings by Sigurþór Aðalsteinson, dated 09/02/12.
