Working period

The working period begins on Thursday, 11th June, but as the schedule varies by age, it ends at different times.

Year 8 are working from 11 June – 16 July.

Year 9 are working from 11 June – 16 July.

Year 10 works from 11 June – 13 July

17-year-olds in the city centre group have until 30th July to complete their sessions.

During the week of 20-24 July, an opportunity will be offered to make up any untaken time during normal daytime hours for those who are interested.

Working hours

The daily working hours for teenagers depend on their age.

Working hours for 14-year-olds are 3.5 hours per day, Monday through Thursday (14 hours per week). Every other week, work is done before noon (8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.) and the other in the afternoon (12:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.).

The working hours for 15-year-olds are 3.5 hours a day, from Monday to Thursday. There are some exceptions to this, but for the preparation and tidying up around 17th June, a 7-hour day will be worked, from 08:30 – 12:00 and 12:30 – 16:00.   For the last three days, we will also work full days from 08:30 to 12:00 and 12:30 to 16:00. We are doing this to give everyone the opportunity to complete the required working hours.

The longer days are as follows: 15, 16 and 18 June, and then 14–16 July.

Working hours for 16-year-olds are 7 hours a day from Monday to Thursday. Morning work is from 08:30-12:00 and afternoon work is from 12:30-16:00.

The working hours for 17-year-olds are seven hours a day from Monday to Thursday, worked from 08:30 to 12:00 and 12:30 to 16:00.

Mealtimes are not counted as working time. It is not permitted to exceed the total time.

Summer hours

  • 14-year-olds work 71 hours.
  • 15-year-olds work 92 hours.
  • 16-year-olds work 118 hours.
  • 17-year-olds work 193 hours.
