The Christmas Village in Hafnarfjörður will be opened with a festive programme on Thorsplani on Friday, 18 November, when the lights will be switched on on the Cuxhaven Christmas tree. The Christmas tree is a gift from Cuxhaven, Hafnarfjörður's twin town in Germany, and will illuminate the Christmas Village in December.

– 18:30 Deputy Ambassador of Germany, Chairman of the Hafnarfjörður Town Council and Chairman of the Hafnarfjörður-Cuxhaven Twinning Association light the lights on the Cuxhaven Christmas tree
– 18:40 Klara Elias performs the Christmas songs 'Desember' and 'Eyjanótt' in a Christmas outfit.

The Christmas village in Hafnarfjörður will be open every Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. until Christmas, and until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
