Sunday, 4 December at 3 p.m. Hafnarborg welcomes visitors to a curator's talk about the collection exhibition. Referred to nature which is currently on display at the museum. Then it will Holmar Holm, The curator talks about the works on display and the ideas underlying the exhibition.
The Hafnarborg collection includes numerous works that refer to or are inspired by nature, and the exhibition presents a selection of these, with a focus on textural works, organic forms and flowing lines. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works are on display – reliefs and photographs, paintings, textile and ceramic art. The works each shed light on nature as interpreted by the various artists – after all, the origin of art is often said to be humanity's attempt to imitate nature.
Works by the artists Ásdís Vésteinsdóttir, Daniel Reuter, Edda Jónsdóttir, Eiríkur Smith, Hallgerður Hallgrímsdóttir, Guðjón Ketilsson, Gudmund Thoroddsen, Gudný Magnúsdóttir, Gurli Elbækgaard, Jóna Guðvarðardóttir, Jónína Guðnadóttir, Kogga, Margrét Sveinsdóttir, Nina Óskarsdóttir and Stefán Jónsson.
