New industrial plots at Hellnahraun are selling fast, and the municipality is busy planning districts and areas for diverse activities. The aim of the mayor's business visits is to take the pulse of Hafnarfjörður's business community through a quick chat and a first-hand experience of the companies' operations.
Te & Kaffi is a family-owned company founded in 1984. Coffee production plays the most important part in the company's operations.
Kæling Ltd. was founded in 2005. The company is a leader in the field of refrigeration technology.
Hress has been operating since 1987. Hress offers a diverse and ambitious range of health and fitness activities.
One of the objectives in the overarching strategy for Hafnarfjörður up to 2035 is a flourishing business community.
In April 2022, the Hafnarfjörður Town Council approved Hafnarfjörður's comprehensive strategy for 2035 which maps out the vision, key objectives and strategic priorities for Hafnarfjörður across all areas of the municipality. The overarching strategy is built around nine key objectives linked to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, each of which is intended to promote and support long-term improvements and positive change. One of these objectives is a thriving economy.
