Innovation in the local community
The Innovation Centre by the Stream is a new project which will begin operations next autumn. It will offer all kinds of workshops and courses, advice, facilities for meetings and lectures, as well as professional guidance and support from experts in innovation, product development and business start-ups. Initially, the focus will be on nurseries and primary schools, and on promoting innovation across all disciplines with the aim of increasing the teaching of innovation, and the subjects of work and technology, in schools. The Innovation Centre by the Stream will provide access to the latest technology and equipment for everyone of all ages in a central location.

A creative community of solutions, development and technology
With an innovation hub, the City of Hafnarfjörður aims to strengthen innovation in the local area and to encourage and motivate residents, community organisations and businesses to be creative and entrepreneurial. That is why we are holding an open house and inviting you to come and see what opportunities the centre offers for businesses and their staff. Light refreshments will be served while the centre's work and strategy are presented, and we will discuss how businesses can get involved in the centre's activities and development, and how the centre can strengthen innovation within companies and increase their social impact.
See you at the open house on 10th May!
An open house for the public and other interested parties is planned for June. Further details to be announced later.
