„The whole discourses of the mind became rough outlines, each stroke a blow, of sweetness or pain, melancholy or merriment, softness or sharpness, love or loss, the world's irony or a lack of wisdom.“

Visual Monologues is a journey of drawings that I began in 2020, to express visually how the world can be experienced without using a logical structure of words.

Otilia Martin Gonzalez is a Spanish artist and designer, born in Germany and living in Reykjavik. With a background in visual communication and an interest in semiotics, her art has therefore developed from the subconscious mind and its visual symbolism. Simple objects become striking symbols of feelings, moods and situations, opening the way to playful self-discovery and curious exploration.

Monsters, symbols, psychology and magic are woven into her work. She has held art exhibitions in Spain, Japan, Romania, the United Kingdom, Finland and Italy, and has won the Vazquez Diaz award in Spain.

Otilia warmly welcomes visitors and there will be a special exhibition opening on Saturday, 20th May from 13:00-17:00.

Everyone is most welcome!
