Friday, 13th October at 6 p.m. The second of this term's Afternoon Tones concerts at Hafnarborg will take place. The singer will perform at the concert. Hrafnhildur Magnea Ingólfsdóttir along with Agnar Má Magnússon on the piano and Andrew Thor on guitar.
Hrafnhildur Magnea Ingólfsdóttir is a 26-year-old musician from Laugardalur. Her musical career began with the band White Signal, which played widely in Reykjavík but also went to Berlin to play with local musicians as part of a project supported by EU Youth. While at MH, Hrafnhildur formed the trio Náttsól with Elín Hall and Guðrún Ólafsdóttir. They won the Secondary School Song Competition and subsequently went to Istanbul where they competed in an international music competition. In 2019, they then released the album Midnight sun.
Since 2017, Hrafnhildur has been releasing pop music under the stage name RAVEN. She then released the EP 229 in 2021, but the album contains five songs. She has also released singles and songs in collaboration with other musicians, e.g. Birgir, RÚN and September. The song „Handan við hafið“, which was released with RÚN, came out in May this year and entered the charts of Bylgján and Rás 2. Hrafnhildur went to FÍH to study singing, but there she was introduced to jazz and subsequently decided to continue her studies after graduating from FÍH in 2019. She has now just moved back home after graduating from the Conservatory in Amsterdam, where she studied jazz singing for four years.
The concert lasts for about an hour and is free of charge.
The concert series is supported by the Culture Fund of Hafnarfjörður and the Music Fund of Rannís.
