Aim of the leisure activity:

The main aims of the leisure activities are to engage children during the summer holidays, give them the opportunity to meet other children of a similar age, and introduce them to interesting activities.

Registration takes place through

Leisure time will be divided into four terms. Each term lasts for one week. At the start of each term, children choose which courses they want to attend for that term. The courses run from Monday to Thursday. The week then ends with a fun and unexpected Friday event.

What is a hobby for?

Tómstund is for pupils in Hafnarfjörður who have just finished years 4 to 7. There is no age-based division in Tómstund, and everyone who is registered can attend both before and after lunch, or as they see fit.

Leisure centre opening hours

Same time at both places

Before lunch: 8:00 – 12:00

– Courses start at 9:00

In the afternoon: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

– Courses start at 13:00

At both locations, there are facilities for the children to heat up and eat their packed lunches between 12:00 and 13:00.

Parents, please note

Attendance at the courses is not compulsory, but we encourage children to stay from start to finish. If children are not interested in taking part in the courses on offer, they are free to come and take part in games and other activities available at both venues (pool, table tennis, cards, etc.). Attendance at Tómstund is voluntary, so children can come and go as they please.
