Working in your neighbourhood – everyone wins

Working close to home saves both time and money. There is also a certain charm to being familiar with the area and possibly knowing the local school. If staff at leisure centres use environmentally friendly modes of transport to and from work, they earn the right to a travel allowance. In such cases, staff can apply for a special monthly travel allowance of kr. 6,000 (for a 50-100% work schedule). Environmentally friendly travel refers to any mode of transport other than travelling by private car or motorised vehicles as defined by the Road Traffic Act, such as walking, cycling, using an e-bike, an e-scooter or the bus.
