Otilia Martin Gonzalez is a Spanish artist and designer, born in Germany and based in Iceland. With a background in visual communication and a passion for art, her artistic career began while she was studying advertising at the University of Seville (Spain). After graduating, she undertook a one-year course at the University of Arts and Design in Cluj-Napoca (Romania).
Her artistic practice is directed towards the unconscious mind, dreams and the language of visual symbols. Her practice is interdisciplinary, encompassing digital art, texts, drawings and installations.
She has held exhibitions in various countries, including Spain, Japan, Iceland, Romania, the United Kingdom, Finland, and Italy. Otilia has also won the Spanish Vazquez Diaz Awards and was granted a residency permit for her artistic practice in the Japanese city of Futtsu. She worked as a cultural journalist for a newspaper in Spain, and also as a film critic.
Otilia is a member of SÍM, the Association of Icelandic Visual Artists.
The exhibition opening will be on Thursday, 21st November from 18:00-20:00 and all are welcome!

With an education in visual communication and an interest in art, she began her art career while studying advertising at the University of Seville (Spain). After graduating, she studied for a year at the Academy of Arts in Cluj Napoca (Romania).
Her art practice revolves around the unconscious mind, dreams and visual symbolic language, and is multidisciplinary, with digital art, texts, drawings and installations.
She has exhibited in Spain, Japan, Iceland, Romania, the UK, Finland and Italy, won the Vazquez Diaz Awards (Spain), and had an art residency in Futtsu, Japan. She has worked as a cultural journalist for newspapers in Spain, as well as a film critic.
Otilia is a member of SIM, the Association of Icelandic Artists.
