[Below in Ukrainian.]

Saturday, 30 November at 1 pm will Iryna Kamienieva, an artist and curator, will give a guided tour in Ukrainian of the exhibition by Pétur Thomsen, Settlement, where works from the artist's ongoing series can be seen, which bears the same title, but this is also the first time that Pétur has held an exhibition of the works under that title.

Settlement is a long-term photographic project in which Pétur explores human exploitation of the land and its impact on nature. The artist photographs mines, roads, lava fields, forests, streams and farmland in the cover of darkness, using flash to define his subjects. The photographs thus become a testament to humanity's environmental impact on nature, which over the past few centuries has been so extensive that many believe human activity has initiated a new geological era, the Anthropocene: an era characterised, among other things, by climate change and global warming.

Iryna Kamienieva is an artist and curator from Ukraine. She has been based in Iceland since 2022, where she has worked in both the art scene and in refugee reception.

In My Language is a programme of events that aims to increase access to Hafnarborg for people from diverse backgrounds by welcoming visitors in different languages. The event is a collaboration between Hafnarborg and GETU – a charity that, through a diverse range of events and social activities, seeks to promote inclusion and positive multiculturalism. The project is supported by the museum fund.

Free admission – all are welcome.

«Settlement» This is a long-term photography project by Petur Thomsen, in which he explores land use and the impact of humans on nature. Petur photographs quarries, roads, lava fields, forests, streams and cultivated land in the dark, using a flash to outline the desired subject.
