The Life Run, which begins on 5 February, is a health and motivational project by the Icelandic Sports and Olympic Association that appeals to all the nation's people. Its aim is to combat a sedentary lifestyle and encourage people to be more active in their daily lives. The Life Run aims for 30 minutes of exercise a day for those aged 16 and over. Regular exercise promotes better sleep, improved quality of life, reduces the risk of various diseases and strengthens the cardiovascular system.

The Lifelapse begins on 5 February 2025

The Lifeshape is a health and motivational project by the Icelandic Sports and Olympic Association that appeals to all the nation's people. Its aim is to combat a sedentary lifestyle and encourage people to be more active in their daily lives. It is based on the recommendations of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer regarding exercise, which state that children and adolescents need to be active for at least 60 minutes daily, and adults need to engage in at least 21.4 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise daily. In the Life Course, a target of 30 minutes a day is set for those aged 16 and over. Regular exercise promotes better sleep, improved quality of life, reduces the risk of various diseases and strengthens the cardiovascular system.

The Lífshlaupið app makes it simple to log your activity during the Lífshlaupið campaign.. In the app, you can log and view all activity from a week ago. You can also read activity directly from Strava. However, it is worth noting that you need to go to The Lifehacks website to create an account and to create or join a team, but after that, you can log in through the app and record all your activity there. Lucky participants drawn every weekday.

While the Lifshlaupið competition is running, lucky participants are drawn every weekday on the programme Morgunverkin on RÁS 2, and they receive a lucky gift voucher from Mother Nature. During the primary and secondary school competition, several lucky classes in the primary school competition receive chocolate milk, and several lucky students in secondary schools receive a Charge. Eight participants are then drawn for the Life's A Challenge photo competition, who receive fantastic prizes.
