Spring clean-up – garden waste bins at all primary schools

Dagana 8. – 11. maí 2025 standa yfir hreinsunardagar í Hafnarfirði undir yfirskriftinni HREINSUM HAFNARFJÖRÐ. Þá geta íbúar í Hafnarfirði losað sig við garðúrgang í gám innan allra hverfa við hvern og einn grunnskóla. Gámarnir verða við skólana frá morgni  fimmtudaginn 8. maí til kl. 17 sunnudaginn 11. maí. Íbúar í Hafnarfirði eru hvattir til að nýta sér þjónustuna eða koma pokunum beint á Sorpu. Please note that Sorpa accepts garden waste free of charge.

Residents are encouraged to use recycled packaging or reusable bags when cleaning. Please note that garden waste must not be put in bags in the bin; instead, the contents of the bags should be emptied directly into the bin.. It is also advisable, where possible, to collect garden waste in a compost heap in a convenient place in the garden and use it for composting. Residents in all neighbourhoods of Hafnarfjörður are encouraged to take an active part in the clean-up. It is ideal, in the run-up to and during the clean-up days, to get to work in the garden, pruning bushes and flowerbeds.
