The City of Hafnarfjörður's allotment gardens are available to all residents for a nominal fee. The gardens are located in Öldutún and Víðistaðir and are allocated at the end of May. Applications are now open.
Green and growing in our vegetable gardens
The City of Hafnarfjörður's allotments are for all residents of Hafnarfjörður for a small fee. This is a great opportunity for individuals and families to grow their own vegetables and look after them over the summer. The allotments are located in Öldutún and Víðistaðir and will be allocated at the end of May. Applications are now open.
What vegetables would you like to grow this summer?
The cost for a garden is kept to a minimum. It is 1,850 krónur for a standard garden and 6,000 krónur for a raised vegetable bed. Vegetables or other materials are not included in the price, but access to water and minor tools will be available. The plots are supplied tilled, and allocation begins at the end of May.
Registration opens today, 30th April, via Vala. Please note that you must select your municipality and your preferred allotment garden location (Öldutún Family Garden/Víðistaðir Family Garden).
