A new path opened on Hjallabraut

Construction works on Reykjavikurvegur

The surfacing at the junction of Reykjavíkurvegur and Hallabraut is being finalised. The slip road from Reykjavíkurvegur onto Hjallabraut has been opened.

Part of the work involves replacing the traffic lights at this junction. It has become clear that the work will be more extensive than was planned, as lanes will need to be crossed for the cables. It has therefore been decided to postpone that part of the work until the spring, when the sun is higher in the sky and the weather conditions are better.

The slip road from Hjallabraut onto Reykjavikurveg remains closed and will be until next week – but only while work is being carried out in the area.
