There was a steady stream of people at Mayor Valdimar Víðisson's open surgery this morning at Thorsplan. Some heard about the mayor's initiative from The Bite on the Wave, Others saw the news on Facebook and yet others were unresponsive, as it was the third time he had held an open meeting at Thorsplan.
55 guests in a short time
A total of 55 people attended these three open surgeries with Mayor Valdimar Víðisson. The issues raised were numerous. Valdimar is pleased with the successful meetings.
„Really good and useful meetings. I feel it's important that the mayor is in good contact with residents, and I have made an effort to meet people, attend meetings and events, and receive people at the office. I would like to remind you that I hold a surgery every Tuesday, but these appointments need to be booked,“ he writes on his Facebook page.
More meetings from August
„The issues were varied,“ he also describes. „We discussed a fountain in Víðistaðatún, allotment issues, transport, services for the elderly, transport services for disabled people, the state of the town, rubbish bins and much more.“
Valdimar is planning to hold more meetings at Thorsplan this autumn. „I feel that people appreciate this initiative.“
