Andri teaches us to breathe at the Town Cinema
Andri Iceland will host a happy hour at the Bæjarbíó on Tuesday, 24 September at 8 pm. His lecture is called: Think about your health. Learn to be okay, no matter what.. He gives advice and guides correct breathing at the end of the lecture.

„It doesn't matter what's going on, if we change our breathing we can calm our system. External circumstances are always the same but we can control our attitude towards them. Breathing controls everything,“ says Andri Iceland who runs A happy moment at the Town Cinema Tuesday, 24 September at 8 p.m. His lecture is called: Think about your health. Learn to be okay, no matter what.. It is open to everyone, free entry and the chance to change your life! The lecture is one of the events at Happy days in Hafnarfjörður.
„Shallow breathing increases anxiety, stress and pain,“ says Andri, describing how our breathing becomes shallow when we are anxious, stressed or in pain, which in turn worsens the problem. Slower breathing reduces it.
Breathing in perfect composure
„Take four or five breaths a minute; if you breathe like that, you're in a state of complete calm,“ he says, referring to a recent study from Stanford. „You don't calm the mind with the mind, but with the body, with your breathing.“
Andri is going to give a talk on Tuesday evening. We emphasise „give“, because entry is free. "We're going to breathe deeply, using our nose to inhale and exhale, and breathe deeply into our stomachs," he says, but his lecture ends with guided breathing which helps participants to experience the benefits of the exercises straight away.
„I'm going to teach people simple techniques to regulate their breathing. If we do that, the system will improve, the body will be in harmony, and body and mind will work better together.“
