Beauty Pageant 2025 – Application deadline extended

An ambitious contribution to environmental issues and the beautification of the local area

The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður is seeking nominations from residents and all interested parties for awards recognising outstanding contributions to environmental matters and the town's beautification.

The awards can be given both to individuals who selflessly clean and beautify their surroundings, and to the owners of plots and specific areas in Hafnarfjörður.

The selection for the awards is based in part on submitted nominations, and all interested parties are encouraged to submit nominations via the town's website by 14 September. The deadline for applications has been extended by a fortnight.

Open for broader nominations  

For several years, the Environment and Operations Committee has been awarding accolades for beautiful gardens, attractive and tidy houses, beautiful new builds or streetscapes, as well as business premises considered exemplary. This year, as last year, nominations are open for a wider range of entries, because beauty truly is found everywhere; both in the environment and, not least, in the people themselves and their commitment to environmental matters. We would welcome a wide range of nominations that recognise the contributions of individuals and businesses, and which serve to inspire others. Many small things make one big thing.  

The deadline for nominations is 14 September.  

Nominations for the awards are based in part on submissions, and residents, visitors, staff of businesses and organisations in Hafnarfjörður, and others with an interest are encouraged to nominate individuals and organisations for excellence in environmental matters. Nominations can be submitted via the registration form below, but they can also be sent to the email address: ingibjorgs@hafnarfjordur.is. Awards will be presented at a ceremony in Hellisgerði in September.
