The City of Hafnarfjörður website was visited over 650,000 times in 2023, a 241% year-on-year increase, making it by far the city's best year online. A new Google web analytics tool was implemented during the year, providing even more accurate figures. June 2023 was, for example, the biggest month in the website's history with 79,600 visits.
650,000 visits in 2023
The City of Hafnarfjörður website was visited over 650,000 times in 2023, a 241% year-on-year increase, making it by far the city's best year online. A new Google web analytics tool was implemented during the year, providing even more accurate figures. June 2023 was, for example, the biggest month in the website's history with 79,600 visits.
The main findings from this year's web analysis are:
- The City of Hafnarfjörður website was visited over 650,000 times during the year, a 241% increase on the previous year, making it by far the city's best year online.
- Women continue to be the majority of visitors to the website, slightly increasing their share compared to the previous year. The age distribution remains relatively unchanged.
- As in previous years, search engines (e.g. Google) are the main source of visits to the website.
- The most visited pages on the website are: Vacancies, minutes, search, map of the town, rubbish collection, staff, and news and announcements.
- In total, nearly 200,000 news stories were read.
- June was by far the biggest month for event attendance, with 17th June and Hjarta Hafnarfjarðar leading the way.
