Litter lost in the city centre and on the Völlunum

This morning, council staff from the Town Hall and at Norðurhlið went out and picked up litter in the town centre and on the Völlunum.

This morning's clean-up drive is part of the town's clean-up days, which are currently underway. Staff from the Hafnarfjörður Service Centre are out and about in the town, collecting garden waste that has been placed outside the property boundaries.

There were numerous black plastic bags filled with all sorts of rubbish, and it was noticeable how many cigarette butts there were in the town centre.

We encourage all residents to take part in the clean-up days and to be mindful of their surroundings – it's the perfect opportunity to take a bin bag with you on your next walk.
