A creative summer for the children
Hafnarborg is offering children aged 6–12 the opportunity to take part in creative art courses this summer, where their imagination can run wild. Participants will have the opportunity to explore their surroundings in an artistic way, view the museum's exhibitions and work on a variety of projects.
The emphasis is on play and creativity, where the fundamentals of visual art are introduced through exploration, observation and experimentation. A variety of media will be worked with – drawing, painting and sculpture – with the aim of strengthening visual perception, fostering creative thinking and supporting each individual's personal expression.
Two four-day courses and one five-day course are on offer for two age groups: 6–9 years and 10–12 years. The course starting on 23 June will feature a special music and singing component in connection with the Hafnarborg Song Festival and will conclude with the children's participation in a family concert on Friday, 27 June at 5 p.m.
The following summer courses are offered:
10 June–13 June (4 days)
6–9 years: 9:00 am–12:00 pm
10–12 years old: 13:00–16:00
16 June–20 June (4 days)
6–9 years: 9:00 am–12:00 pm
10–12 years old: 13:00–16:00
23 June–27 June (5 days)
6–9 years: 9:00 am–12:00 pm
10–12 years old: 13:00–16:00
The course fee for 5 days is 18,000 krónur and for 4 days it is 14,400. Parents and guardians are kindly asked to let us know if a child has any special needs that require consideration.
