- Opening of the week – Cycling programme presented
- 11:00-14:00. Event on Bankastræti – nursery school children come and draw on the street, along with other activities. The street is closed to car traffic.

Tuesday 22 September – Car-Free Day
Free travel on public transport in the capital region on Car-Free Day.
- Public transport in the capital region will be free on Car-Free Day, 22 September, as part of the ongoing Mobility Week. Strætó encourages city-dwellers to take advantage of this offer and travel for free around the capital region, without having to worry about parking or petrol costs.
8:30-10:00 Stjórnvísi is hosting a breakfast meeting on corporate social responsibility and transport contracts. The meeting will be held at Advania's premises, Guðrúnartún 10.
15:00 – 16:30 The Association of Local Authorities in the Capital Region is hosting an open lecture by Jarrett Walker, an expert in public transport systems and author of the book Human Transit. Jarrett Walker has worked on the planning of around 200 public transport systems worldwide, including in Houston, Sydney, Auckland, Seattle, Portland and Minneapolis. The lecture will be held in Salnum in Kópavogur.
