Halldór Árni's art exhibition opens on the International Workers' Day, 1st May, at Litla Gallerý on Strandgata. This is his third exhibition in this small but popular gallery, which is situated between two buildings familiar to most residents of Hafnarfjörður, having formerly housed the shops of Maggi the watchmaker and Geir Jó's shoe shop.

Halldór studied fine art at the Iceland Academy of the Arts from 1982 to 1986, has held numerous exhibitions and taken part in group shows. In addition, he taught painting for over 30 years, particularly at the Adult Education Centre.

The theme of the exhibition is in keeping with the opening day, 1st May, and the exhibition is titled „People of Good Works“. There is only one landscape painting in the exhibition, but the other paintings revolve around the figure of the people of good works. Not necessarily working people in the narrowest sense, but also people whom Halldór Árni has met in his life – living and deceased – who have enriched the community in the Fjord with their fine presence.

The exhibition opening will be on Wednesday, 1st May from 16:00 to 18:00, and all are welcome!

Other opening times:
Friday 3 May, 13:00–18:00
Sat 4 May 12:00-17:00
