Advent flot for „newcomers“ and the interested – only 12 places available

The health town of Hafnarfjörður, in collaboration with FLOT Í KYRRÐ, is inviting those interested to an Advent float on Sunday, 17th December at 4 p.m. It is important to register for the float, and it is on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry is free, and those who have never tried floating before are especially encouraged to sign up and give it a go. FLOT Í KYRRÐ are Helga Óskarsdóttir, a yoga teacher, and Iris Eiríksdóttir, a yoga teacher and massage therapist. They are also the owners of Yoga húsið at the St. Jó's Wellbeing Centre. They have been offering float therapy at the Suðurbæjarlaug pool since autumn 2019. Floating relaxation is a gentle way to surrender to the stillness and healing power of the water. A float therapy session is a gentle body treatment where your body is assisted through specific movements and touch to release tension and stress that tend to build up in the nervous system and the body. The treatment is provided by qualified float therapists who use flotation equipment from Flothettu. The pool is heated specifically to make your experience and the effects of the treatment as optimal as possible.

Registration takes place via the email address: flotslokun@gmail.com

Part of enhancing residents' well-being

This initiative by the Healthy City of Hafnarfjörður is part of promoting the health of the residents of Hafnarfjörður and friends of the city, and is in line with the health strategy that the municipality formulated in 2016. One of the three overarching goals of the health strategy is to find ways and solutions to enhance the well-being of residents. Here, in collaboration with Yoga Húsið at the St. Jó. Wellbeing Centre.
