In my view: Shadow Theatre – a multilingual storytelling workshop
On Sunday 11 October from 1 pm to 3 pm, Hafnarborg and GETA are hosting a multilingual storytelling workshop where participants will create characters and tell…
Saturday, 27th May at 1 p.m. will Kristín Helga Ríkharðsdóttir, artist and one of the participants in the exhibition Invisible worlds, ...welcome visitors to the museum, talk about their own artistic creation and discuss the connection between their works and the exhibition's concept, as well as other pieces in the show. This also marks the start of the exhibition's final weekend, which runs until and including Monday, 29th May.
The exhibition features works by six Icelandic and international contemporary artists who focus on digital art, photography, moving images, realism and hyper-reality. Their works explore ideas of disconnection, anxiety and the grim humour characteristic of the generation now living and moving within a new media environment. Utilising digital means of expression, the artists highlight the satire inherent in the stressful patterns of 21st-century life.
The artists taking part in the exhibition, in addition to Kristín Helga, are Meriem Bennani, María Guðjohnsen, Bita Razavi, Helena Margrét Jónsdóttir and Inari Sandell.
The curator is Daría Sól Andrews.
Free admission – all are welcome.
