A physiotherapist at a care home meets an elderly resident who decides to confide a secret from long ago in him, before disappearing into the fog himself. The story stretches back beyond the last execution in Iceland; the narrators are four, and they all share the name Jón and a truth they have lacked the courage to reveal. This story deals with hopes and disappointments, frail souls and bitter destinies, but the mist is eventually lifted and the brilliant light reveals what truly matters. Everyone gets their comeuppance, albeit in different ways.
Head Solution is the fifth book by Lárus Jón Guðmundsson, who previously published Flekaskil, and the poetry collections In Lárusarhúsi, Miss Kúla the Spider and Other Poems (2004) and Love Poems (2013).
