Come for a walk!

Kolbrún Kristínardóttir, a paediatric physiotherapist, will lead a walk on Stórhöfði for children and parents. Stórhöfði is just south of Lake Hvaleyrarvatn. It is a pleasant and easy hill to climb, but with great views, making it ideal for a family walk. The route is about 3 km in total and the ascent is just over 100 metres. Please bring some snacks to top up your energy on the way and have a little something on the summit. Participation is free and everyone is welcome!

The walk will start from the car park at the western end of Lake Hvaleyrarvatn (near Völlum). Please note that the turning to Hvaleyrarvatn from Kaldárselsvegur will be closed due to resurfacing work when the walk begins. Participants in the walk will therefore need to approach Hvaleyrarvatn from Vogar.

Cultural and Health Walks 2023

This summer, guided town walks are offered every Wednesday. The walks are a collaboration between the Hafnarfjörður Library, the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum, Hafnarborg and the Healthy Town of Hafnarfjörður. Most walks take about an hour.
