Sketches // Sigurjón Már Svanbergsson
Sketching is not about precision but rather about capturing the main points, form and movement on paper. To achieve this…
The glaciers, water and dramatic nature of Iceland have long fascinated the artist Guðbjörg Jóhannsdóttir. The incredible variability of nature holds both magic and challenges for those who live in close proximity to it. Guðbjörg has travelled and been close to glaciers, water and nature, both on foot and by car.
What fascinates the artist about the subject is the grandeur and curiosity that arises from observing the size and movement of glaciers and water. A development that so clearly shows that every day is unique and that a transformation is taking place.
The exhibition focuses on glaciers and water. The artist, Guðbjörg Jóhannsdóttir, seeks to convey experience and interpretation in her work. Watercolours are the art form that most captivates the artist. Throughout her life, Guðbjörg has been involved in art, studying at art schools and taking part in exhibitions. Art has always held its place alongside other projects, but creativity and art are now given greater importance and more time than before.
The exhibition opening will be on Thursday, 17th October from 18:00-20:00 and all are welcome!
Other opening times:
Friday 18 October 13:00 – 18:00
