Diversity is the foundation of progress and the strength of society.

Diversity is the foundation of progress, and by celebrating it, we create a healthier society for all of us. The City of Hafnarfjörður celebrates diversity and will continue to pave the way towards full equality and respect. The City of Hafnarfjörður will, as it has often done, take part in the highlight of Pride Week, the Pride Parade itself, where LGBTQ+ people unite in a call for a more colourful society. It will take place on Saturday, 10 August at 2 p.m. The event is organised by Queer Meet-ups in Hafnarfjörður and peer education from the Hafnarfjörður Summer Job Scheme, and they encourage residents, staff of the City of Hafnarfjörður, and all interested parties to turn out in large numbers and take part in the parade under the City of Hafnarfjörður's banner.

Freedom to love. Freedom to be. Freedom to flourish. Freedom to celebrate.

The walk will set off from Hallgrímskirkja at 14:00, but for those wishing to walk with the Hafnarfjörður group, the meeting point is at 12:30. A limited number of flags and decorations will be available on site, so it's first come, first served!
