Thordis Erla Zoega
Hi/Bye – Bye/Hi
„Nothing ever truly disappears. Everything changes at some point, but returns in another form.“
For Museum Night, a work by the artist Þórdís Erla Zoëga will be projected onto the gable of Hafnarborg, as well as the museum's inner wall, so that passers-by, museum visitors and people in the vicinity can enjoy this temporary artwork. Thordís graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2012 and has been active in exhibiting both nationally and internationally. In her artistic practice, Thordís explores our relationship with the digital world, policies and routines across various media.

Afternoon Tones at Hafnarborg – Sunna Gunnlaugs Trio
Pianist Sunna Gunnlaugs' trio is performing at the first Síðdegistónar concert in Hafnarborg for 2023. The trio, alongside Sunna, features Þorgrímur Jónsson on double bass and Scott McLemore on drums. Together, they will play a selection of songs from their albums, mixed with new material. In recent years, the trio has performed widely both at home and abroad, where they have attracted attention for their unique blend of the lyrical European sound and the American jazz tradition.

Yoga session for everyone – Anna Rós Lárusdóttir
A blend of fun strength and balance poses and various stretches, all set to great Friday yoga music. The session will finish with relaxation to soft and pleasant tunes. The class is based on Hatha Vinyasa, with an emphasis on mental and physical well-being. A perfect opportunity to come and have a good time together and head into the weekend feeling refreshed. The yoga session will be led by Anna Rós Lárusdóttir in the main hall of Hafnarborg, surrounded by sculptures by the artist Sóley Eiríksdóttir, which bear titles such as Exercise, Position, Upright and so on.

A guide to current exhibitions
A guided tour of the museum's current exhibitions will be offered with Aldís Arnardóttir, director of Hafnarborg. She will then lead visitors through the exhibitions. Joking, where works spanning the career of Sólveig Eiríksdóttir (1957-1994) can be seen, and Untitled, which features rare works by Eirík Smith (1925-2016). It is worth noting that this is the first time that exhibitions of the father and son's work have been held under the same roof at the same time.
On Museum Night, visitors to the Winter Lights Festival can visit around fifty museums and see a wide variety of exhibitions in the capital region, while the museums also offer a lively and entertaining programme. Cultural institutions from Hafnarfjörður, the Library, the Folk Museum and Hafnarborg, are taking part, just as they did when the Night of the Museums was last held in 2020. Admission to all the museums is free for the evening.
