More artists than ever this year
As before, residents of Hafnarfjörður will open their homes in the town centre, and in each house, two different artists or bands will play. The Free Church in Hafnarfjörður will be one of the HEIMA houses, as in previous years, and the festival will also use the stage at the Bæjarbíó, reflecting the festival's diversity – all sorts of venues and all sorts of music. There are fourteen artists this year, more than ever before. Each performs twice at a different HEIMA house in the town centre. They are not all playing at the same time, so those who are most diligent about strolling between houses will see the most performances.
Døgg Nónsgjógv from the Faroe Islands is a special guest at HEIMA this year.
HEIMA is placing special emphasis on Døgg Nónsgjógv from the Faroe Islands, who are a special guest at HEIMA this year. HEIMA traces its roots back to HOYMA in Gøtu, Faroe Islands, and has always tried to feature one act from the Faroe Islands at HEIMA. Døgg Nónsgjógv, who released their debut EP 'Døggfallin' last autumn, are heading to the SPOT festival in Denmark, which focuses on new and exciting music from Scandinavia.
The festival will be launched at Ægi Brewery at 19:00 with live music, but wristbands will also be handed out there on the day of the festival from 14:00. The first HEIMA concerts begin at 19:30 in the Fríkirkjan and the last one finishes at around 23:00.The closing acts at Bæjarbíó are two this time, with the programme starting at 23:15 and lasting for approximately an hour. HEIMA is a music festival that offers intimacy between performers and guests, as well as a diverse range of music for people of all ages.
