Let's light up the love is a light walk which will take place on Sunday, 10th December at 5 p.m. up Helgafell in Hafnarfjörður.
The idea is to walk up Helgafell together in a single file queue with head torches. When everyone is on the mountain, the walk is stopped, and everyone switches off their head torches for 1-2 minutes so that it becomes pitch black. After one minute, everyone then switches on their head torches to shine a light of love.
At the top of the mountain, a 2-metre heart will be installed, which will light up during the walk.
It's a good idea to have crampons with you and to dress for the weather.
The event received a cultural grant from the City of Hafnarfjörður in autumn 2023.
