Sketching is not about precision but rather about capturing the main points, form and movement on paper. To achieve this…
The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here! Year 10 of Setbergsskóli presents a new production of the hit musical Mamma Mia, by Catherine Johnson and based on the songs of the Swedish band ABBA, which most people will know following the quartet's victory in the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest with their song, Waterloo.
In Mamma Mia, we meet Sophie Sheridan, who is about to get married. But before she does, she must solve the biggest mystery that has plagued her: the question of who her father is. This is easier said than done, however, as there are three possible candidates! After much deliberation, squabbling, suspense, joy and sorrow, the story takes an unexpected turn that no one saw coming.
The musical is directed by Guðrún Heiða Sigurgeirsdóttir and María Gunnarsdóttir. The production is based on a translation by Þórunn Erna Clausen. The assistant director is Jóna Sigríður Gunnarsdóttir, and all the pupils and parents of the 10th-grade pupils at Setbergsskóli are involved in the project in one way or another; their hard work is evident in the magnificent set design and outstanding performances.
