Friday, 31st May at 5 p.m. We warmly welcome you to the opening of the exhibition. Guðný Guðmundsdóttir, Cassio Peau, in Sverris Hall at Hafnarborg. The exhibition features mainly new and recent works by the artist, created on paper and in clay, as well as video works. She reflects herself in the works, presenting reflections on the wounded ego, self-aggrandisement and narcissism, drawing inspiration from Greek mythology.

The viewer steps into an ambiguous world, where titles in German, French and English, inscriptions and references to beings and phenomena from the classical world can be found. The works then move us back and forth in time, prompting us to ponder inner connections or a relationship, as they form a kind of constellation or cluster that perhaps offers more questions than answers.

Gudny Gudmundsdottir (b. 1970) graduated from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 1993, the Hamburg University of Fine Arts in 2001 and has been working as an artist ever since. In her artistic practice, she works with media such as drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and photography. Guðný lives and works in Berlin.
