A public information meeting will be held on Tuesday, 30th May at 17:00 at Norðurhellu 2, regarding changes to the detailed plan for Hafnarfjörður's town centre concerning plot R4, Víkingastræti 2.
Amendment to the detailed plan for the centre of Hafnarfjörður
– Plot R4, 2 Viking Street
According to the local plan amendment, the demolition of the building at 2 Víkingastræti, which houses a theatre (Gaflaraleikhúsið), is proposed, and a new building of 3–4 storeys with a basement is to be erected in its place. The maximum gross floor area of the hotel building will be 3,510 m². The new building will accommodate up to 65 hotel rooms, will connect to the existing hotel and will form a single operational unit. A tower will be permitted at the entrance to the new building and balconies will be provided for all hotel rooms on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. Furthermore, a proposal is made to alter the boundaries of plots no. 1, 2 and 3 on Víkingastræti and to combine them into a single plot. Provision will be made for 21 parking spaces on the shared plot. A servitude of way for traffic and pedestrian access will be established.
