Winter holiday October 2026
There will be a winter holiday in primary schools and the Hafnarfjörður Music School on Monday 26 October and Tuesday 27 October. On this occasion, the Healthy Town of Hafnarfjörður…
Sunday, 1st November at 4 p.m. A performance will be held in connection with the work. Gabi Schillig, soft imitations / echo of space, on the occasion of the closing day of the Hafnarborg autumn exhibition, of the fortune-teller. In the performance, the relationship between body, material and space is explored, as the performers approach Gabi's work on their own terms and find their own connection with the material. Their interaction with the work also opens up connections to other works and the exhibition space itself.
In her work, Gabi explores how the body and space shape one another, and works with, among other things, the idea of soft architecture, where gentleness will be a way to reassess ideas about coexistence and care. The performers are Iris Ásmundar and Sara Lind Guðnadóttir. The performance was performed at the opening of the exhibition but will now be repeated on its closing day.
In the exhibition, six artists are in direct dialogue with the gallery space. They work with different media but all have in common that they engage with the space, whether through material, concept or installation. Thus, space itself becomes the subject of the exhibition, both as a physical space and as a concept. The artists are Daníel Ágúst Ágústsson, Gabi Schillig, Hildur Elísa Jónsdóttir, Iyo Hasegawa, Joe Keys and Shiori Ono. The curators are Katrín Björg Gunnarsdóttir and Úlfur Bragi Einarsson.
Free admission – all are welcome.
