We are the village: „The future is bright if we all want it.“

An open meeting with and for young people, their families and all interested parties.

Hafnarfjörður is holding an open public meeting with young people, families and all interested parties about their own issues, well-being and safety. The meeting will be held at Bæjarbíó on Tuesday, 8th October at 17:30. Parents and families are the safety net and need to stand together and take an active part, with the local council providing an important support network. Mayor Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir will open the discussion.

Eva Mattadóttir will chair the session, leading the conversation and discussion, with an emphasis on allowing guests to express their ideas and opinions in an efficient and interactive manner. The aim is to gather ideas and proposals for actions concerning the safety and well-being of children and young people in their „village“. The panel will include representatives from the youth, the police and the local council, and the discussion will begin with a strong message from each of them to the guests in the room.

Together, we are the village – join us!

Let's talk and let the ideas flow. Ideas and suggestions from the meeting will be presented for discussion in the Education Committee and the Family Committee, and will provide the basis for planned meetings, an action plan, and the prioritisation of prevention projects.
This meeting is the first kick-off meeting for a planned series of meetings by the City of Hafnarfjörður and the Healthy City of Hafnarfjörður on the issues concerning children and young people, their well-being and safety.
