There will be a half-term holiday in primary schools and the Hafnarfjörður Music School on Thursday, 23 February and FriTuesday, 24 February. To mark the occasion, HThe city of Hafnarfjörður invites children and their families to take part in a fun programme during the winter holidays and to find great ideas for fun and varied activities for the whole family throughout Hafnarfjörður on the city's website. Among other things, there is free swimming for children and adults for these two days at Ásvallalaug, Suðurbæjarlaug and Sundhöll Hafnarfjarðar.
Friday 24 February
- FREE SWIMMING from 6:30 am to 8 pm at Ásvallalaug and Suðurbæjarlaug, and at the Swimming Hall until 9 pm.
- A treasure hunt for the children and a children's tour of Hafnarfjörður Museum of Local History 13:00. Open 11:00-15:00
- Planetarium in Hafnarborg 13:00–15:00. In the workshop, participants will work with various colourful materials to create their own planets that change with rotation and light. Together, the planets will then form a solar system that illuminates the „celestial sphere“. The workshop will be led by artist Þórdís Erla Zoëga.
- Minecraft course á Library of HafnInheritance Law, 13:00-15:00. Limited places and registration required. bokasafn@hafnarfjordur.is Booked
- Hafnarfjörður Ski Club Open house from 10:00-14:00 at Flatahrauni 14. Free entry and free to borrow equipment. Open to everyone (roller skates, scooters and BMX).
