Wuthering Heights Day in Iceland

The event on Facebook

Fans of the singer Kate Bush are coming together from all over the world to celebrate “Wuthering Heights Day” on Sunday, 28th July. This also applies to Icelandic fans who are gathering in the countryside outside Hafnarfjörður to celebrate, live and enjoy. The highlight is dancing to the song 'Wuthering Heights' by Kate Bush, from 1978.

To mark the occasion, PikNik and the singer's Icelandic fans are planning to meet at Hvaleyrarvatn (on the Vallar side) to celebrate and honour the day. Entry is free and everyone interested is encouraged to join in. Participants are encouraged to wear red, put flowers in their hair, dance, have fun and listen to Kate Bush's songs. The Wuthering Heights dance will take place at 3 p.m. by the lake. The event is being organised by Áslaug Jónsdóttir of PikNik.

The Kate Bush revival began in 2013

The Ultimate Kate Bush Experience, or the Kate Bush revival, began in 2013 with the Brighton-based arts collective Shambush, who attempted a world record by getting as many people as possible to dress up as Kate Bush and gather in the same place. 11 years have passed since then, and now this event has multiplied, stretching its tentacles across the globe from Austin, Texas, to Sydney, Australia, and also to Iceland.
