Nearly 400 individuals from Hafnarfjörður have won national titles this year.
Every year, the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður organises an awards ceremony for sportspeople who compete for teams from Hafnarfjörður, Champions of Iceland, cup winners, Nordic champions, world champions and for special achievements, along with the selection of Hafnarfjörður's sportswoman, sportsman and sports team. The ceremony took place at the sports hall on Strandgata today. In 2022, nearly 400 individuals have won Icelandic championship titles with Hafnarfjörður teams, and they are especially congratulated on their achievement. At the ceremony, 8 million were allocated from a fund established by Rio Tinto in Iceland, ÍBH and the City of Hafnarfjörður, which is intended to support sports activities for under-18s.
The 2022 Performance Team is the men's and women's team of the FH athletics department.
The Hafnarfjörður sports team for 2022 is the men's and women's senior athletics team of Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar. The team performed brilliantly during the year, winning all but one of the track and field competitions that counted towards points, and winning 11 out of 12 possible scoring competitions at the National and Cup Championships. The team also won numerous titles in both the Championships and the Cup competition.

Guðrún Brá Björgvinsdóttir, a golfer from the Keili Golf Club, is a professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour, where she had full playing rights for the year. She competed in sixteen tournaments during the year, and her best result was a 10th-place finish at the ATS tournament in Bangkok, improving her position on the women's professional golf world rankings. Guðrún Brá is one of the country's leading golfers and has been for many years. Currently, Guðrún is ranked 162nd on the LET European Tour Order of Merit. Guðrún Brá is ranked 783rd (949th last year) on the women's professional golf world rankings.
Anton Sveinn McKee is the Athlete of Hafnarfjörður 2022
Anton Sveinn McKee, a swimmer from Hafnarfjörður Swimming Club. Anton Sveinn is a member of the Icelandic national swimming team and a competitor at the World Championships and European Championships in the 50m pool, where he finished 6th in the final of the 200m breaststroke at both events. He also competed at the World Championships in the 25m pool, where he finished 10th in the 200m breaststroke and 18th in the 100m breaststroke. He trains and competes with a professional swimming team. Anton Sveinn was named the Swimming Association of Iceland's Male Swimmer of the Year in 2022.
