A fun tradition has developed for Halloween in Hafnarfjörður in recent years, where entire neighbourhoods, community organisations and schools come together to offer terrifyingly scary entertainment or house tours.
It is safe to say that Halloween has enjoyed ever-growing popularity year on year, and in many neighbourhoods the tradition has developed for children to go from house to house with „trick or treat”, as well as both nurseries and primary schools holding events as part of their school activities.
This year, Halloween falls on Friday, 31st October, tomorrow. Information on which households plan to welcome trick-or-treaters can be found on most, if not all, residents' neighbourhood social media pages. Expect the town's streets to be filled with the whole family in all sorts of costumes.
