Hello Hafnarfjörður – 102 new arrivals so far this year
347 new little ones were born in Hafnarfjörður in 2022. In the first four months of 2023, a further 102 little ones have been born in Hafnarfjörður, and hopefully all the parents have already collected a welcome gift for their child from the Hafnarfjörður Library.
The average is 26 new cuties a month.

We are Hafnarfjörður – a family-friendly community
As of 1 January 2022, all newborns in Hafnarfjörður have received a congratulatory message and a card from their home town, informing them that a symbolic gift, a so-called 'cuddle basket', awaits them on the children's section of the Hafnarfjörður Public Library. The initiative has been well received and a large proportion of parents have collected the gift, which is part of an effort to further establish Hafnarfjörður as a family-friendly community.
