Impact of impending strikes on the operation of swimming pools and the customer service centre

Members of BSRB and staff of the swimming pools and service centre of Hafnarfjörður Municipality, in the Staff Association of Hafnarfjörður, have called a strike from midnight on the eve of Monday, 5 June. Should a strike take place, the swimming pools and customer service centre of Hafnarfjörður Municipality will be closed.

Impact of impending strikes on the operation of swimming pools and the customer service centre

Members of BSRB and staff of the swimming pools and service centre of Hafnarfjörður Municipality, in the Staff Association of Hafnarfjörður, have called a strike from midnight on the night of Sunday, 5th June. Should a strike take place, the swimming pools and customer service of Hafnarfjörður Municipality will be closed, with the planned work stoppage as follows:

  • From 00:00 on Monday 5 June 2023 to 23:59 on Wednesday 5 July 2023 for members working in customer service.
  • From 00:00 on Monday, 5 June 2023, for members working in swimming pools.

No one is to take over the duties of this staff, except for the Manager of the Swimming Pools and the Director of the Service and Development Department. Further information will be issued on Sunday evening or before opening on Monday. Should the strike be called off, the service centre will operate as normal after the weekend, but swimming pool operations will be restricted at the start of next week due to retraining courses for staff of all swimming pools in Hafnarfjörður, as follows:

Monday, 5th June

  • Ásvallalaug – closed
  • Hafnarfjörður Swimming Pool – closed
  • South Bay Pool – Open

Tuesday, 6th June

  • Ásvallalaug – Open
  • Hafnarfjörður Swimming Pool – closed
  • South Bay Pool – Open
