This week, wages were paid to young people aged 17 and under for the Hafnarfjörður Youth Work Scheme for the pay period from 20th May to 19th June. An incorrect rate (a lower rate) was used when the wages were paid, and a correction is being made. The correction is expected to be processed today.

This week, wages were paid to young people aged 17 and under in the Hafnarfjörður Youth Work Scheme for the pay period from 20th May to 19th June. An incorrect rate (a lower rate) was used when the wages were paid, and a correction is being made.  All information about pay, working hours and periods of employment in the summer school, as well as general information, can be found at Work School Information Page. The office is open from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 8 am to 2 pm on Fridays.

Around 1,300 young people employed in work experience during the summer of 2023.

The Hafnarfjörður Summer Job Scheme is intended as the first workplace for children and young people, where they can experience being in the labour market and learn to be a part of it in a safe working environment. This year, 1,091 young people aged 17 and under are employed by the work school in a variety of jobs at 57 locations throughout the town. 186 young people aged 18 and over are employed by the work school.
